The Morning of the Wedding

Bride looking in a mirror

One of the many reasons I love my job is getting to be part of a wedding morning. There’s something so special about those few hours before the bride walks out the door to meet her future husband or wife at the end of the aisle.

Every wedding morning is different. Some brides have massive wedding parties, meaning the room is busy, loud and full of chaotic fun. Some prefer to have no bridesmaids and a super peaceful start to the day, and then there are those that are somewhere in between!

No matter your circumstances, there are some things to keep in mind to ensure a smooth flowing morning. Here are my top tips:

  • Tidy up the ‘getting ready space’ the evening before to save you some time in the morning.

  • Take an antihistamine the evening before and morning of your wedding. Especially for the watery eye gals out there (me)!

  • Lay your shower essentials out in the bathroom before you go to bed for when you wake up.

  • If you’re doing any DIY décor, make sure it’s finished before the big day so you don’t have to be ‘working’ on the morning of.

  • If there’s space, let your dress out of it’s bag and check for any major creasing. If it needs another steam, it’s best to do so the evening before so that it has time to dry before you put it on! Same goes for the bridal party.

  • Check over any buttons on your dress to make sure none have come loose. Sewing in a hurry is never fun!

  • If you’re with your bridal party the night before, ask them if they have any questions about the ceremony and any jobs you might need them to do so that nobody is harassing you while you’re getting ready.

  • Text your suppliers with one of your trusted bridal party’s phone numbers. Just in case they’re trying to contact you and you’re not by your phone.

  • Plan to be in your dresses one hour before your ceremony. This allows enough time for photographs with your bridal party and for a quick drink if you need to kick the nerves!

  • Drink plenty water throughout the morning so that you don’t get a stress headache. This also allows you go to the bathroom a lot before you need to get into your dress, and it starts to get a lot more difficult ha-ha!

I hope that these tips will help you have a more relaxed wedding morning! Just don’t forget to soak in every moment. This is it!! Your day is here and you’re going to look beautiful.

Much love,

Shannon x
